Now former Nottingham Forest player Greg Halford has sent a message to fans.
Departed Nottingham Forest utility man Greg Halford has sent a message to supporters on Twitter.
Halford, 30, is no longer a Forest player after his contract expired yesterday, and took the chance to thank fans for their support during his time with the club, and express his pride at wearing the shirt.
He also made the point to note that he felt his eventual release was not based on footballing reasons.
Halford was never made available to new boss Dougie Freedman last season, for he spent the year out on loan at Brighton and Hove Albion, making 20 appearances for the Seagulls.
The 30-year-old had been with Forest since 2012, after he was signed from Portsmouth by Sean O’Driscoll, who was fired after just five months at the club.
He played 82 times for Forest, scoring eight goals and providing six assists, featuring in defence, midfield, and even up front for a short spell.
