Could Emmanuel Adebayor scupper Tottenham hero Harry Kane’s chances? He is hopeful…

Former Premier League striker Emmanuel Adebayor says he has not given up on winning the Ballon d’Or.
Adebayor was released by Tottenham in 2014 and has gone onto rebuild his career in Turkey.
He said: “Playing for Real Madrid, Arsenal is a dream but I never thought it would be real.
“Maybe if I imagine that I will win Ballon d’Or. If I do, I can win Ballon D’or. I am not very happy with my football career, but I can not complain. I’m still alive, so I can keep dreaming.”

Current Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino made Adebayor his vice-captain, before the striker fell out of favour and was released a year later.
He played on loan at Crystal Palace in the second half of 2014/15 even though Spurs were still paying a percentage of his wages.
After a year out of the game, Adebayor signed with Turkish side Istanbul Basaksehir, and has begun to rebuild his career.
The 33-year-old has struck eight goals in 15 games for the club this season.
Even so, the Ballon d’Or is certainly setting his sights too high – and current Tottenham forward Harry Kane is a far more likely winner after a stunning 2017 in which he outscored Lionel Messi.
