The Rangers midfielder was one of the first to be informed by Steven Gerrard of his Ibrox release.

A player recently released by the Rangers manager, Steven Gerrard, has been spotted at Celtic’s training ground after leaving Ibrox.
Liam Burt, who was on Celtic’s books before switching to Rangers’ youth system in 2014, was one of the first players to be informed by Gerrard his Ibrox contract would not be extended.
And, still without a club, Burt posted the following image on Instagram earlier, from the base of Rangers’ biggest rivals, Celtic, adding lyrics from the Drake song, ‘God’s Plan’.

Burt only played three times for Rangers – but never under Gerrard – and had in recent seasons spent time on loan with Alloa Athletic and Dumbarton.
It remains to be seen whether or not the 20-year-old’s post is a sign that he is returning to Celtic, although the Bhoys could have a vacancy for a young central midfielder after releasing their reserve team captain, Regan Hendry.

The Rangers goalkeeper, Aidan McAdams, made the opposite cross-Old-Firm switch in 2017.
