Nottingham Forest are set to land Diogo Goncalves on loan.

Nottingham Forest are close to pulling off a deal to sign Diogo Goncalves on loan, The Mail report.
The exciting Portuguese winger will join from Benfica, and this move to Forest will be a big opportunity in his career to play regular football.
He actually had a chance last year with Wolves, and snubbing the opportunity seems like a big error.

The impressive Portugal under-21 international was linked with a move to Wolves last year on loan by newspaper Record.
He elected to stay put and fight for his place at Benfica, fair enough, but as Wolves revolution under Nuno Santo took off,, Goncalves spent most weeks on the sidelines at his club.
Goncalves made just seven league appearances for Benfica last season, where creditably enough he made two assists, but there was more frustration than elation.

His record for Portugal’s under-21 side is impressive, seven appearances and six goals.
Goncalves could not afford another season playing sporadically, and he has another opportunity now to move to England which he must seize.
There is no guarantee Nottingham Forest will emulate Wolves’ success, but landing Goncalves for the year will certainly help.
