Striker snubbed by Leeds continues his comeback.

Had it not been for injury, Jerry Mbakogu could have been a Leeds United player right now.
The Nigerian forward told TMW last week how Leeds cancelled their agreement to sign him due to a knee injury which ruined his 2018 and hopes of a big move to England.
After he was released by Carpi in the summer, Mbakogu remained without a club through the first half of the season before signing with Serie B side Padova earlier this month.
He played his first game since May 18 at the weekend, and scored a brace.
Mbakogu netted twice in a 3-0 win for Padova over high flyers Verona.

It’s not enough to make Leeds regret their decision, but it does get his career back on track.
Should the Whites have signed him as a free agent?
The change in management from Paul Heckingbottom to the more headstrong Marcelo Bielsa also factored into Leeds reneging on the deal, with the Argentine arriving at the club with fresh ideas.
A strong second half of the season will possibly lead to Mbakogu landing a bigger move providing he can stay fit, although a switch to Leeds remains unlikely.
Having spurned the chance to sign him for nothing, it would be a bad look for the Whites to revisit their interest at the end of the season, when Premier League standard strikers will be required pending promotion.
