Reiss Nelson could now stay at Arsenal because his relationship with Mikel Arteta is so strong that he doesn’t want to leave.
That’s according to Football London, who report that Nelson’s relationship with Arteta is ‘driving him’ to stay at Arsenal.
Nelson’s Arsenal contract ends this summer and talks are underway over a deal for Nelson to stay put.
This comes after Nelson scored a dramatic late goal to beat Bournemouth 3-2 on Saturday afternoon.
Nelson has made himself an Arsenal hero with that goal, which could be vital in the Premier League title race.
You can hardly blame Nelson for wanting to stay at Arsenal having come through the ranks with the club since joining as a kid.
A starring role is unlikely to ever happen for Nelson but his goal on Saturday may just show Arteta that he can play more regularly.
Arteta seems to have the love of the Arsenal players and that includes Nelson, who now wants to stay at the Emirates Stadium.

Reiss Nelson will still have other offers this summer
Arsenal is the priority for Nelson but if a deal can’t be done, there will be many clubs ready to swoop in.
90Min claimed over the weekend that Everton and West Ham United are interested in signing Nelson.
Brentford, Crystal Palace, Burnley and Southampton are also thought to be in the race for the winger’s signature.
Teams in France, Germany and Italy are also keen on Nelson, who will have no shortage of offers in the coming months.
Many of those clubs may be willing to offer Nelson a key role and ultimately more playing time than Arsenal can realistically promise.
Nelson would then face a real dilemma; does he leave and play regularly or choose to stay with a manager he loves in Arteta?
It currently sounds like Nelson will prioritise the latter and push to stay with Arsenal despite rival interest.
