Former Crystal Palace striker Reise Allassani is making up for lost time after being cruelly denied a move to Sheffield Wednesday in 2016.
The 22-year-old, who was once courted by Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, Chelsea and Newcastle United while on Palace’s books [Express], was due to sign for Wednesday after his release by the Eagles 18 months ago [London News Online].

A serious knee injury put paid to that deal, however, and Allassani spent more than a year on the sidelines before returning to action with seventh-tier Dulwich Hamlet last November.
And he has already struck 17 goals – including two hat-tricks – in 16 appearances, having been moved to centre-forward from a wider role.
“Seven or eight” clubs have registered a firm interest in signing Allassani this month, according to Dulwich boss Gavin Rose [London News Online] – with some of Sheffield Wednesday’s Championship rivals thought to be among them.

Having signed a trio of strikers since the start of last season – Steven Fletcher, Sam Winnall [currently on loan at Derby County] and Jordan Rhodes – in addition to the four already in their first team, it is unlikely that Wednesday will renew their interest in the former Crystal Palace prospect.
The chances of the Owls coming face-to-face with him soon, however, may be considerably higher.
