Reece Oxford joined Borussia Monchengladbach from West Ham United in the summer transfer window.
Oxford, who can operate as central defender or as a defensive midfielder, joined German club Monchengladbach on a season-long loan deal from Premier League side West Ham in the summer transfer window.
Much was expected of the 18-year-old when he joined the Bundesliga outfit, but the England Under-20 international is struggling for playing time so far this season.
The talented and promising teenager has yet to make appearance in the league for Monchengladbach, but the youngster has revealed that head coach Hecking has spoken to him.
“The manager says I’m training good and hopefully I’ll get my chance,” Oxford told The Times.
“I feel I’ve been around a first team for three years and watching everything, picking up little things.
“I haven’t been in a youth changing room since I was 15 and I’ve matured quick. I feel like I’m a man now. I feel experienced.”
Oxford is a very talented and versatile young footballer, and he seems to be ready to play first-team football for Monchengladbach.
The youngster has played in the Premier League for West Ham, and he knows what it entails to turn out for a big club.
Monchengladbach are doing relatively well in the Bundesliga at the moment and are in the running for a top-four finish.
Perhaps in the coming weeks Oxford will get his chance, and if and when he gets it, he should make the most of it.
According to The Sun, West Ham could sell Oxford in the January transfer window.
