Jaidon Anthony scored his first goal for Leeds United on Saturday, as Daniel Farke’s side brushed aside Watford 3-0 at Elland Road.

The 23-year-old, who joined on-loan from Bournemouth on transfer deadline day, didn’t start the game, but came off the bench to put the cherry on top of the cake for promotion-chasing Leeds.

After the match, Jaidon Anthony took to his Instagram to express his delight at scoring his first goal for the Yorkshire club, with Chelsea right-back Reece James writing in the comments section ‘ma boy’.

Only two seasons ago, Jaidon Anthony was helping Bournemouth earn promotion, via the automatic places, by scoring eight goals and supplying six assists.

So, for Daniel Farke to have a player of that calibre on the bench, added with the likes of Wilfried Gnonto and Patrick Bamford, who were missing from yesterday’s game, then it surely puts them in one of the driving seats to earn promotion.

Of course, the Yorkshire faithful will take promotion however it comes, but securing that top-two finish should be the aim for this squad.

Leeds’ defence has transformed

It wasn’t so long ago that Leeds fans were watching their team concede for fun and crumble as soon as anyone entered their penalty area.

But, fast forward to the present, and they have kept an impressive four clean sheets on the bounce.

Whilst a lot of eyes are on the attack, the defence has been simply sensational, with the likes of Ethan Ampadu making a huge, huge difference in the middle of the park.
