Reece Burke has left West Ham United for Hull City in the summer transfer window.
Burke has left Premier League club West Ham for Championship side Hull in the summer transfer window.
According to The London Evening Standard, the Tigers had to pay the Hammers a transfer fee of £1.5 million in order to secure the services of the 21-year-old defender.
The former England Under-20 international defender has explained his decision to leave West Ham and switch to Hull.
Burke told The Hull Daily Mail: “It was a difficult one. I’d been there since I was nine, I support West Ham, my family support West Ham.
“I used to live two minutes away from the Boleyn Ground. I used to be ball boy there. I literally grew up with West Ham.
“But it’s one of those where I’ve played for different clubs in different leagues now. I’ll always be a fan, of course, but I see myself as a player now and I need to do what’s best for me.
“It wasn’t a case of not being wanted at West Ham but when they accept a bid for you, it tells you that they’re willing to let you go.”

Burke was able to make only a handful of league appearances for West Ham in his career, and spent time on loan at Bradford City, Wigan Athletic ad Bolton Wanderers.
It was clear that the English defender was not going to too many chances for the first team if he remained at West Ham, and the youngster made the right decision by joining Hull in the Championship where he is likely to get a lot of chances next season.
