Reds legend Steve Nicol predicted that his former club could sign Paris Saint-Germain ace Kevin Trapp in the summer, as quoted by the Daily Express.

Liverpool have spent heavily since Jürgen Klopp’s appointment as manager back in October 2015, with the likes of Mohamed Salah, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Virgil van Dijk being brought in.

Naby Keita will also join Klopp’s revolution at Anfield in the summer, leaving just the goalkeeping role as arguably the only position that requires further strengthening on Merseyside.

And Nicol, who made 475 appearances for the Reds, predicted that PSG stopper Kevin Trapp could arrive at Anfield in the summer, although he admitted that he isn’t convinced by the German’s ability, as quoted by the Daily Express:

“Again this is another summer one. It’s possible, I’m not going to say it’s going to be a hit, I’m going to say it’s a miss. But it is possible, depending on what happens in my opinion with Donnarumma and Milan, then it’s possible Trapp could end up at Liverpool.”

Klopp’s men currently sit in fourth spot in the Premier League table, 20 points adrift of league leaders Manchester City.

Next season will be the German’s third full season in charge at Anfield, and that is when it will be fair to judge him.

Liverpool fans will be expecting a sustained challenge for the Premier League title, and with Van Dijk now on board, the signing of a top class ‘keeper would give them a fantastic chance fo doing just that.

Whether Trapp is the man for the job, though, is debatable to say the least.
