Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp believes that Mauricio Pochettino will want to sign Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane if he becomes the new Chelsea manager.

The former Tottenham midfielder has said on Sky Sports Premier League (8:24pm, May 6, 2023) that if Pochettino takes over at Chelsea, then then Argentine manager will try to get Kane from Spurs.

Pochettino is a former Tottenham manager who worked with Kane at the North London club.

There is speculation that the Chelsea hierarchy are interested in the 29-year-old England international.

The Daily Mail have reported that Chelsea are close to appointing former Tottenham boss Pochettino as their new manager.

Summer transfer unlikely

Harry Kane is one of the best strikers in the world, and there is no doubt that all of the top clubs would love to sign the Tottenham Hotspur star in the summer transfer window.

And Chelsea do need a new number 9.

However, we do not think that Chelsea will be able to sign the 29-year-old from Spurs in the summer transfer window.

Chelsea and Tottenham are bitter London rivals.

And Spurs chairman Daniel Levy will surely want to sell his most prized asset to Chelsea.

And Kane himself may not be too keen on crossing the London divide, especially if he has the option to join Manchester United in the summer transfer window.
