Jamie Redknapp has claimed that Liverpool and Chelsea transfer target Moises Caicedo makes ‘tackling look easy’ for Brighton.

The Sky Sports pundit also added that Ecuador’s World Cup star has the attributes to play really well in ‘every area’ of the pitch.

At 21, the big guns of the Premier League are pushing for Caicedo’s signature ahead of the next two transfer windows, with Liverpool and Graham Potter’s Chelsea seemingly putting their names forward.

Chelsea might feel they have the edge because Potter has worked with the player before, whilst Liverpool need a player of his ilk in the middle of the park after a struggle during these past few months.

Nonetheless, Redknapp thinks ‘a lot of clubs’ will be trying to lure Caicedo away from the Amex Stadium given the performances he is putting in, as he told Sky Sports Premier League (13/11/22 at 1:45 pm).

“Brilliant recruitment as well because when they signed him,” said Redknapp. “You had Bissouma playing in that position. They loaned him out, he had a spell in Belgium where he was very successful and then they brought him back once they sold Bissouma to Tottenham.

“He has been magnificent. All the attributes to play really well in every area. He’s a brilliant tackler. He makes tackling look so easy. I remember Scott Parker was a magnificent tackler. And this is what he possesses.

“But he can also play. He is very progressive with his passing. He looks to play people in and he has been a revelation since he has come there.

“I am sure a lot of clubs will be looking at him right now. Very, very impressed with this young man.”

WHO NEEDS CAICEDO MORE?

Both Liverpool and Chelsea are struggling heading into the break for the 2022 World Cup and they might use the January transfer window to refresh their squad.

It’s perhaps a little easier for the Reds because they haven’t splashed the cash that much, that’s why their form has been so indifferent.

But those at Stamford Bridge spent £200 million+ in the summer, only to sack Thomas Tuchel and now have Potter in charge, who have lost their last three games.
