Jamie Redknapp has stated that he is ‘sure’ that Mesut Ozil won’t be at Arsenal next season, but he admitted that it’s ‘easier said than done’, as he told Sky Sports PL (21/07/20 at 10:45 pm)

Arsenal suffered a 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa last night, as Ozil failed to make yet another matchday squad.

There will be some Arsenal fans who would like to see Ozil, at the very least, appearing from the bench, especially in the Premier League where they don’t have much to play for.

But after yesterday’s defeat at Villa Park, Redknapp offered his thoughts on Ozil’s future in North London.

“He [Arteta] has some problems he has to sort out,” Redknapp told Sky Sports. “One of them is obviously Mesut Ozil.

“I am sure he will be leaving in the summer. But he is on £300 grand. He’s on an awful lot of money. Easier said than done.

“But sometimes if you feel the players not right then you have to bite the bullet and maybe let them go.”

The signs are clear for Ozil and it has to be questioned what he has to do during these final few weeks to seemingly get back into the good books of his manager.

Not only that, if Arteta doesn’t see the German part of his future plans then how will he part ways with him given his age, lack of recent performances and high wages?

Either way, Arteta is stamping his authority on this Arsenal squad regardless of who you are and what you have done in the past.
