Jamie Redknapp has said on Sky Sports that Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min looked tired against Manchester City.

The former Tottenham midfielder has said that every time Son got the ball against City, he looked tired as he was constantly chasing it.

Spurs suffered a 3-0 defeat to City away from home at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday.

Redknapp said on Sky Sports: “Today when Spurs got the ball, every time it came to Son, he looked tired, physically tired because he’s chasing it. I know that’s what City do.”

How did Son Heung-min play against Manchester City?

Son has emerged as an important source of goals for Tottenham, but against Pep Guardiola’s City at the weekend, the 28-year-old struggled to make a huge impact.

The way Spurs head coach Jose Mourinho set up his team against City, it was hard for Son and Kane to do much in attack.

City had 60% of the possession, according to BBC Sport, and were the better team over the course of the 90 minutes.

According to WhoScored, Son did not take any shot, had a pass accuracy of 78.1%, took 52 touches, attempted two dribbles, made four tackles, and put in five crosses.

So far this season, the 28-year-old – who cost the North London club £22 million in transfer fees when they signed him from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2015, as reported by The Guardian at the time – has scored 13 goals and provided six assists in the Premier League for Tottenham, according to WhoScored.
