Jamie Redknapp has told Sky Sports, during their live Nations League coverage, that Christian Eriksen does not deserve to be questioned after his Tottenham Hotspur spell.

Jose Mourinho sold Eriksen to Inter Milan in January, and his final year at Spurs was highly disappointing.

The playmaker’s form badly dipped after his head appeared to be turned at Spurs, and he was widely criticised by their supporters.

But Redknapp doesn’t feel that Eriksen’s ability should be in any doubt, as he considers him a ‘great player’.

“He’s got great technique, every time he gets over dead ball situations you fear the worst if you’re the opposition,” Redknapp said.

“I know at Spurs people might question what level he got to, but I look at him and what he achieved and to get to 100 caps – I think he’s a great player.

“He deserves all the recognition and Denmark have had some amazing players, and he’s up there with the elite of Danish football.

“He’s a great finisher and he needs that licence to play in central areas to score goals.”

Eriksen reminded English football fans of his quality last night, as he scored the only goal of the game in Denmark’s 1-0 win over the Three Lions at Wembley.

The attacking midfielder actually hasn’t had the best of times since leaving Spurs, as he is yet to really show his strongest form at Inter Milan.

Tottenham are also likely to feel that they have moved on and replaced him well since his departure.

Giovani Lo Celso has really stepped up at Spurs since Mourinho’s arrival, and Tanguy Ndombele is also providing them with a lot of creativity from midfield areas.
