Tony Cascarino has praised former Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart for his career turnaround at Celtic.
The former striker thinks the 36-year-old has ‘revitalised’ his career in the colours of Celtic, after Tottenham let him move to Glasgow in 2021, as he told talkSPORT.
Ironically enough, Ange Postecoglou, who is now set to be Tottenham’s next manager, has played a part in that because the Bhoys won the treble in Scotland this season and Joe Hart was his main man in between the sticks.
From winning the Premier League title in the colours of Man City to then warming benches at Burnley, West Ham United and Spurs, to name a few.
The former England international got a few cracks at first-team football in north London, but ultimately, when Nuno Espirito Santo was appointed as the club’s manager, he booted Hart out in a brutal fashion.
At that stage of Hart’s career, it could have been easy to call it a day, but he refused and now he is playing some of the best football of his career, with Cascarino singing his praises.
“It struck me that there is a (former) Manchester City player that has won the treble before Man City win theirs,” said Cascarino.
“I was thinking of Joe Hart. It’s a little bit of redemption time for Joe. His career at Celtic has been revitalised.”
HART’S CAREER IS ENDING ON A HIGH
At one point, Hart was one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League and he was untouchable as England’s number one.
But, as soon as Pep Guardiola arrived at Manchester City in 2016 and showed him the door, things really started to spiral out of control for the player.
It seemed as though his career was going to fade away, but as the shot-stopper enters the last few legs, he is now riding the highest of waves.
