Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to react after Alexandre Lacazette revealed what Granit Xhaka did to him in training on Instagram.
The France international uploaded a photo of his foot to Instagram, which shows a spot of blood coming through his sock.
It was probably nothing more than an accident, in which the Switzerland international mistakenly trod on the Arsenal No.9’s foot.
Nevertheless, it didn’t stop Lacazette uploading his wound onto Instagram, along with a jokey comment about the coming together.
The 29-year-old wrote: ‘@GranitXhaka I thought we were friends’.
The ‘injury’ – if you can call it that – surely won’t keep the ex-Lyon striker out of Sunday’s clash against Leeds.
However, some Arsenal fans below have joked that Xhaka wants to see Gabriel Martinelli start against Marcelo Bielsa’s men, hence why he trod on Lacazette.
A couple of other supporters actually praised the former Borussia Monchengladbach maestro for training with the same full-bloodedness he’d take into actual matches.
All jokes aside, it’s good to see the Frenchman brush off the challenge with a joke, and he should start against Leeds at the Emirates Stadium this weekend, in our view.
