Former West Ham United attacker Diego Poyet has expressed his disappointment after his move to San Lorenzo fell through.

Diego Poyet managed to burst into the scene for Charlton Athletic back in 2013 and his fine performances for the Addicks earned him a move to Premier League side West Ham United during the summer of 2014.
A move to the Hammers was most certainly a wonderful opportunity for Poyet, but the midfielder did not quite enjoy the best of spells at the club and after making only 10 appearances across two seasons, the Uruguay Under-20 international was released on transfer deadline day this summer.

Following the departure from West Ham, Argentinean outfit San Lorenzo had emerged as a surprise destination for Poyet but it has now been revealed that the prospective transfer will not be taking place due to a potential breach of Argentine Football Federation rules.
Poyet has gone on to express his disappointment at failing to earn a move to San Lorenzo through social media website Twitter but added that he hopes to play for the South American side in the foreseeable future.

The 21-year-old posted,
Poyet is still able to sign for an English club at the moment and it will be interesting to see if any team would be willing to take a chance on the youngster in the coming days.
