Tottenham Hotspur striker Vincent Janssen could be heading for the White Hart Lane exit door this summer, as he has been linked with a number of clubs, the latest being Mexican side CF Monterrey.

When Vincent Janssen first arrived at Tottenham, he arrived with big expectations on his shoulders and with a strong reputation following his successful season with AZ Alkmaar.
Prior to moving to White Hart Lane, the 25-year-old had struck an impressive 32 goals in 49 appearances in Ajax’s top-tier [transfermarkt], but after three years in England’s top-flight, his career could now be taking a completely different direction.
Spanish outlet Record have claimed that Mexican top-tier side CF Monterrey are keen on Janssen’s services, with his career in North London edging closer to an end.
If Janssen does leave for the Mexican side then it’ll prove how far he has fallen since that first day in 2016 when he was snapped up by Mauricio Pochettino, as a player who could potentially go on and make a serious name for himself at the club.
There’s no doubt that he is no longer has the qualities to play for a team like Tottenham, who are in the Champions League and are trying to win their first trophy under Pochettino.
But with Janssen being linked with Mexico, whilst it isn’t a surprise, he is still a better player for a league of that standard, and he does have the qualities to play for another team in Europe.

Perhaps his best option is to move back to his home country, try to keep fit and regain the form that won him plaudits many years ago because he still has years ahead of him.
If he can do that then maybe one day he may return to the Premier League, with another club, but during his time in England’s top-flight he has failed to show any goalscoring threat.
It is a shame for a player that is still supported by those at Tottenham, but it is one of those situations where the pace of Premier League football was just too hot to handle for the Dutch striker.
