Rangers are battling to sign Connor Goldson.

Rangers are hoping to sign defender Connor Goldson, and this is a deal which is very much possible despite reports of their latest bid being turned down.
Steven Gerrard is keen to bring the centre-back to Ibrox, but The Argus reports Rangers’ second offer has been rejected.
Game over? Not quite. Reports regarding Brighton’s plans offer Rangers significant hope.
The Mirror‘s live blog (24/12 18:03) reports Brighton are set to move for Reading defender Liam Moore.

Moore, a former Leicester City trainee and England under-21 international, is highly rated and Brendan Rodgers tried to bring him to Celtic back in January.
Then Reading boss Jaap Stam snubbed Celtic’s interest, Get Reading reported, and they moved for Marvin Compper instead.

Stam has since been fired, weakening Moore’s bond with the Royals, and Brighton evidently feel they have a legitimate shot of getting their man.
Brighton signing Moore would make Connor Goldson’s chance of playing time so much harder, having barely played last season.
Now it is up to Rangers to return with a better offer.
