Aston Villa fans have urged the club to recall Frédéric Guilbert from his loan spell at RC Strasbourg after an injury to Matty Cash.
The club’s official Twitter account posted that Guilbert, who moved out on-loan last month, marked his first game at his new club with a match-winning assist – and it couldn’t have come in a timely manner.
Following Dean Smith’s comments from the weekend, where the Villa boss shared that Cash has picked up a hamstring injury, those Villa fans now want Guilbert recalled.
Smith claimed after the game to Sky Sports: “It looks like a hamstring injury,”.
“I think he was turning and he got pushed as he was turning. Then he has felt his hamstring. In this cold weather, that can happen.”

Smith has the experience of Ahmed Elmohamady to choose from at the back.
The 33-year-old did come on for Cash when he was forced off during his side’s goalless draw against Brighton.
But it seems as though the Villa Park faithful favour the Frenchman, and whilst that’s their wish, more than likely it won’t be granted.
The reason why Guilbert moved out on-loan last month in the first place was that he had fallen behind, not only Cash but Elmohamady also in the pecking order as well.
Nonetheless, here is a selection of Villa fans wanting Guilbert to return:
