Aston Villa fans were impressed with Said Benrahma’s performance on Wednesday night as he helped West Ham record a deserved 3-1 win against the Midlands outfit.

Whilst Jesse Lingard stole the headlines for his brace on his West Ham debut, there were sections of the Villa Park support impressed with what Benrahma brought to the table.

Of course, it could have been a lot different for the tricky winger had Dean Smith signed him up, and Villa fans do wish he was wearing the Claret & Blue of Villa, and not of West Ham.

Prior to last night’s game, Smith admitted that Villa looked at the possibility of bringing Benrahma to B6, but they opted against it because they had Jack Grealish (Birmingham Mail).

Villa fans can now only dream about what a partnership that would have been!

Well, after providing an assist during the reverse fixture, the £20m winger (BBC Sport) was at it again last night.

West Ham’s goalscoring machine, Tomas Soucek, was showcasing his inner Frank Lampard once again, but it was Benrahma’s brilliantly-weighted and first-time pass that fed the defensive-midfielder for his eighth league goal of the campaign.

Here is a selection of Villa fans reacting to Benrahma’s performance last night:
