Speaking on the Premier League’s YouTube channel, Declan Rice has spoken about the impact Mark Noble has on the West Ham dressing room.
The Hammers skipper hasn’t been much of a factor on the pitch this season, partially down to the almost unbreakable partnership of Rice and Soucek in the middle of the park, but it seems as though he’s still having an impact at the club.
Indeed, Rice says that Noble’s presence is massive and that he’s always giving pointers at half-time along with David Moyes.
“His presence is incredible, I think all-round, just the word captain, you know, everything about him is that.
“When new lads come in like Jesse, or when Said comes in from Brentford, he’s always on the phone to Said, he’s making sure he’s sorted with a house, making sure he’s sorted with a car. He does all those things to make sure the lads off the pitch are sweet.
“Before the games as well, he’s really vocal. He wants the best for everyone, he really pushes everyone on and at half-time he’s giving pointers out as well as the manager, so he’s massive to have in and around the changing room.”

It sounds as though Noble is a very valuable player to have in the squad, even if he isn’t playing much football these days.
The midfielder is doing three jobs at once it seems, he’s a player, a coach and even a player liaison officer, helping new signings source things like houses and cards.
He may not wear the armband on the pitch all that often anymore, but he’s still a true captain.
