Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Jurgen Klopp has reserved some special praise for Sadio Mane and his recent performances.

Mohamed Salah and Diogo Jota have rightfully been receiving all of the praise in the world after their recent goalscoring exploits, and, as you can imagine, Jurgen Klopp was asked plenty of questions about Salah and Jota during his presser.

However, while journalists weren’t necessarily asking about Mane, Klopp made sure to remind everyone just how well the Senegalese star has been playing.

What’s been said about Mane?

Klopp made sure that Mane got his due praise during his press conference.

“Diogo is an exceptional player, Mo is an exceptional player and by the way, Sadio Mane is playing really really well at the moment, he’s just been really unlucky in those last moments. Yesterday, it would have been a penalty. He tried to stay on his feet and then Mo finished it off. All of these boys have incredible quality,” Klopp said.

Unlucky

As Klopp says, Mane has been very unlucky recently.

Mane could have scored two goals against Newcastle on another day. He was brought down when one on one with the goalkeeper just before Salah’s goal, while he was unlucky to strike the post in another instance.

Unfortunately, things just aren’t falling for Mane right now, but that hasn’t stopped him from scoring seven league goals already this term.

If luck begins to fall on Mane’s side, don’t be surprised if he starts putting up Salah-level numbers.
