Tottenham Hotspur’s Antonio Conte has lavished praise on opposite number Marcelo Bielsa at Leeds United.
Elland Road plays host tomorrow afternoon as Leeds welcome an erratic Tottenham outfit to West Yorkshire.
Spurs have lost four of their last five Premier League games and the Italian manager offered an explosive interview following a midweek defeat at Burnley.
On the same night, Bielsa’s Whites side suffered a dreadful 6-0 reverse away at Liverpool and, as a consequence, United are now only three points clear of the relegation zone.
Leeds haven’t won any of their last five Premier League outings, but Bielsa remains a popular figure among the Whites supporters nonetheless.
After all, he’s the man who finally led them back to the top flight following a 16-year absence in 2020.
And even Conte himself has admitted that Leeds have an excellent manager, describing his Argentine counterpart as ‘very good’ at his job.
He told the Lilywhites’ official website: “They have a proper style of football and they have a really good coach – Marcelo Bielsa is a really top coach.”
Richard Keys intimated on Twitter in midweek that Bielsa would be far more under pressure at Leeds if he was an English coach.
However, any credit Bielsa has in the bank in West Yorkshire has been thoroughly earned and sacking him would be insane, given how influential he has been.
That being said, it’s massively important that United arrest this horrendous run of form and really, winning against Spurs wouldn’t be hugely unlikely.
