Speaking to West Ham’s official website, Vladimír Coufal revealed he’s been left ‘really surprised’ by how much work his teammates do at Rush Green.

The £5.4 million man said: “I was really surprised by how the guys here keep training after the session ends, because I was used to, after a session, going back to the changing room or playing games like football tennis or something.

“Here, the guys make sure that they stay on the pitch or keep improving their finishing or crossing.”

This is fantastic to hear.

When a new signing arrives from a foreign country, and the language barrier potentially causes problems, actions will speak louder than words.

In that respect, it is great to hear that the West Ham players stay behind after training to work on the weaker parts of their game.

After hearing this, it’s no surprise that the Irons are sat fourth in the Premier League.

Their desire to go above and beyond is impressive.

West Ham’s players seem like they want to do much more than the bare minimum, and they’re reaping the rewards.

David Moyes has done something special to the Hammers.

There is a unity, a togetherness, a clear fighting mentality that hasn’t been there in previous seasons.

For example, West Ham have recently lost two vital players in Declan Rice and Angelo Ogbonna.

However, Issa Diop and Mark Noble have stepped in, and the intensity of the side hasn’t dropped one bit.

There is a firm winning mentality at the London Stadium right now, and also a real togetherness.

Long may it continue.
