Darren Bent has said on talkSPORT (4:42pm, February 9, 2023) that Leeds United chairman Andrea Radrizzani should hire former Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl as their new manager.

The former Tottenham Hotspur striker has said that he cannot believe that Leeds still have not appointed the 55-year-old Austrian yet.

Leeds are on the hunt for a new manager following the dismissal of Jesse Marsch.

Hasenhuttl, who was sacked by Southampton earlier this season, has been loosely linked with the West Yorkshire club, with no credible reports claiming that Leeds have actually made contact with him.

Darren Bent wants Leeds United to hire Ralph Hasenhuttl

Bent said: “I am really surprised that he is not one of the favourites because he knows the Premier League, he has good results in the Premier League. I think he is a good manager. Why would they not go for him?”

The pundit added: “For me, if I was the Leeds owner, and I am not, I would be going for Ralph Hasenhuttl.”

What should Leeds do?

In our view, it would not be a bad idea of Leeds United to hire Ralph Hasenhuttl now.

Yes, the Austrian got the sack at Southampton earlier this season, but prior to that, he had done well.

The 55-year-old was successful in keeping the Saints in the Premier League season after season.

So, we can safely say that he knows how to avoid relegation to the Championship.

And Leeds do need a manager who knows how to get grind out results and keep teams in the top division.
