Jermaine Jenas raved about Leeds United winger Jack Harrison on Match of the Day on BBC One (11:17pm, April 3, 2021).

The former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, who now works as a pundit for BBC Sport, has been impressed by how Harrison has been playing for Leeds in the Premier League.

Jenas outlined the attributes of the 24-year-old winger, on loan from Manchester City, and believes that he has stood out for Leeds this season.

The Englishman said about Harrison on Match of the Day on BBC One (11:17pm, April 3, 2021), as transcribed by Leeds Live: “I think it’s been an impressive year. For his first season in the Premier League, he’s really stood out in this Leeds side.

“Some of the quality and attributes that he has, his persistence and quality that he shows. This is why he’s got himself seven goals this year, because he gets himself into the right areas at the right times.

“He’s the second top scorer for them in the league this season and he’s a key component in what Bielsa wants to do. The versatility that he’s shown all season, great year for him and he’s been a top player for Leeds all year.”

Important player for Leeds United

Harrison has made 27 starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League for Leeds so far this season, scoring seven goals and providing five assists in the process, according to WhoScored.

During the 2019-20 campaign, the Englishman, who can also operate as an attacking midfielder, made 45 starts and one substitute appearance in the Championship for Marcelo Bielsa’s side, scoring six goals and providing eight assists in the process, according to WhoScored.

While much has been made about Patrick Bamford and Raphinha this season, it is very good to see Harrison getting praise from pundits now.

Perhaps Leeds will make Harrison’s loan deal from City permanent in the summer of 2021.
