Gary Neville has told Monday Night Football on Sky Sports that Newcastle United defender Jamal Lewis fell asleep to allow Timo Werner to score last night.
Chelsea scored their first goal of the evening when Olivier Giroud smashed home, and it was not long before they were celebrating again.
Werner shook off Lewis from a corner and was left with an easy tap-in at the far post, as Newcastle fell further behind.
Steve Bruce’s side never looked properly set-up from the set-piece.
And Neville was thoroughly unimpressed by the way that Lewis marked Werner.
He said: “When the ball comes in, it’s a good delivery.
“There’s just space everywhere. The goalscorer Werner is against Jamal Lewis and it then comes down to is the individual man going to do his job?
“And Jamal Lewis is really, really poor. That’s poor defending, poor concentration and sleeping.”

Newcastle failing to concentrate at a set play was unforgivable, as they knew all about Chelsea’s threat.
The Blues have had great success from dead ball situations this season and Bruce surely warned his side about the threat that Thomas Tuchel’s men posed before the game.
Newcastle’s defeat means that they are now looking over their shoulder, with concerns rising that they could get dragged into a relegation fight.
