Mykhailo Mudryk will undergo a medical at Graham Potter’s Chelsea on Sunday, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, meaning that it is only a matter of time before Arsenal’s quest to take the winger to the Emirates Stadium in the January transfer window officially comes to an end.
Shakhtar Donetsk announced last night that they are close to agreeing a deal with Chelsea over the transfer of Mudryk.
Chelsea themselves have dropped hints on social media that they are on the verge of signing the Ukraine international winger, described as “powerful” and “really quick” by former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy on talkSPORT (4 January, 12pm).
Well-known and well-respected journalist Romano has claimed that Mudryk will undergo a medical at Sunday, with the two clubs having agreed on a deal.
It was also Romano who reported last night that Arsenal did not increase their final offer for the Ukraine international winger, allowing Chelsea to move in.
The Times and The Athletic were among the major media outlets to have reported Arsenal’s bids for Mudryk, but it seems that the North London club will miss out on the youngster.
