Speaking on Goal’s official YouTube channel, Kenny Dalglish has praised Liverpool youngster Curtis Jones for his performances in recent weeks.
The teenage midfielder has become an integral cog in the Reds’ first-team after injuries to Naby Keita, Thiago Alcantara and Jordan Henderson left a huge gap in the midfield, but he’s done a brilliant job of making sure that those three haven’t been missed too much.
Jones has been praised by a number of pundits, but as a Liverpool player, it doesn’t get much better than hearing Dalglish wax lyrical about you.
“We’ve been through the last month or so with lots of injuries, and so many young boys have come in and they’ve been really promising, I mean Curtis looks a player, Curtis Jones,” Dalglish said.
The midfielder should be absolutely buzzing to hear that Dalglish rates him.
The Scot is a true legend of the game, and he knows exactly what he’s talking about when it comes to spotting talent, after all, he is a former Premier League winning manager.
King Kenny of course still holds a backroom role at Anfield, so getting this sort of praise is massive for Jones’ career.
The midfielder has certainly impressed lately, with his winning goal against Ajax the icing on the cake on what has been a remarkable few weeks for the 19-year-old.
We can only hope that this good form continues and that the midfielder can cement himself as a starting option going forward.
