‘Really painful: £30m player comments on 28-year-old Leeds star

You have to feel sorry for Leeds United hitman Patrick Bamford.

Bamford was Leeds’ best player last season and a massive factor in them finishing ninth in the Premier League standings.

However, this time around he has started only seven Premier League outings due to recurring injuries.

The 28-year-old made another of his comebacks against Wolves prior to the international break.

However, he went off injured in the first half and was spotted crying in the dugout surely afterwards.

Rodrigo, his Leeds teammate, can sympathise with the English star, having suffered a similar foot injury.

The Spain international, who cost the Whites £30 million in 2020, told The YEP: “I think it’s more or less what Pat has now and I completely understand what he feels because it’s really painful.”

There’s no telling how much better Leeds could be doing this season with a fully-fit Bamford up front.

Seventeen Premier League goals last term illustrates that he’s a massive player for them and without him, it’s no surprise to see the Elland Road outfit battling relegation.

The worrying thing is, it remains to be seen how long Bamford is absent for now.

United are seven points clear of the relegation zone now, after winning at Molineux, and should be alright this season but, even if they survive, the West Yorkshire support will think what could’ve been.
