Jose Enrique has stated that he is hoping Manchester City rumoured to be pushing for Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka is ‘not true’, as the former Liverpool defender posted on his Instagram story.

Both Liverpool and Manchester City have been two clubs touted as possible destinations for the Arsenal wonderkid that scored 11 Premier League goals last season.

At 20-years-old, Saka has the footballing world at his feet and he will play at the top, top level for many, many years, without a doubt.

That isn’t happening right now because Arsenal aren’t competing for the Premier League title, nor are they in the Champions League.

That’s why clubs like Manchester City and Liverpool are sniffing around for his signature, but when the Daily Mail reported that those from the Etihad are going to ‘ramp up’ their interest in the versatile forward and ‘steal a march on Liverpool’, this is how Enrique reacted.

“Hope this is not true,” said Enrique. “What a player Saka is. I would really like him for us (Liverpool).”

SAKA THE BEST YOUNGSTER IN THE WORLD?

Saka turned 20 back in September and he is probably Arsenal’s key player, the first name on the teamsheet and an England starter.

On Tuesday night, he started for the Three Lions as they recorded a 1-1 draw against Germany in Munich in the UEFA Nations League.

The fact that so much faith is being put into the left-footer to start out on that right-hand side, just shows how much talent he has in his boots.

Arsenal will be hoping that one of the best youngsters in the world continues to develop in their colours, and in order for that to happen, they have to continue to progress and secure Champions League football next term.
