Chris Sutton told 606 on BBC Radio 5 Live Sport that he finds it ‘really interesting’ that Chelsea are seemingly interested in Tottenham striker Harry Kane.
The Daily Mail claim that Chelsea are looking for a striker this summer and Thomas Tuchel would love to have Tottenham’s hitman on board.
There have been shock transfers in the past – Robin van Persie’s move from Arsenal to Manchester, Sol Campbell’s free transfer across North London or even Ashley Cole’s switch to Stamford Bridge.
Whilst Kane moving to Chelsea is pretty unlikely, it would no doubt rock English football, anger the fans and send shockwaves across London once more if it were to happen.
Nonetheless, whilst Sutton found the Kane to Chelsea rumour ‘interesting’, he cannot see such a move actually going through.
“Would Spurs want to sell him to Chelsea?” questioned Sutton. “I think it’s a really interesting one.
“I have to say I am still baffled by Tammy Abraham seemingly being written off if Chelsea could attract Harry Kane then he would be the one, wouldn’t he?
“But I don’t see that happening.”
Daniel Levy has to make an impression this summer else he should fear losing Kane’s services.
First of all, he has to bring in a manager that will lift the Tottenham supporters and then he has to do the business in the transfer market.
Doing half the job or neither job will only increase Kane’s chances of leaving, and whilst he won’t head to West London, it would more than likely see him heading for the North London exit doors.
But given Levy is a marmite-like figure at Spurs, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the fans don’t trust their chairman to do the business.
