Tony Cascarino has raved about Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka in The Times and has compared him to Manchester United legend Dwight Yorke.

The former Chelsea player has spoken highly of Saka and has said that he has surprised everyone with how much he has improved.

The talkSPORT pundit has also compared Saka to Yorke when the now retired striker was at Aston Villa.

Yorke is known globally for his exploits with Manchester United, but the former Trinidad and Tobago international striker started his career at Aston Villa.

Tony Cascarino on Arsenal star Bukayo Saka

Cascarino wrote about Saka: “I played with a young Dwight Yorke at Aston Villa. He was such a gifted young talent — always playing with a smile on his face, chasing every ball, scoring goals of great skill but making it look so easy.

“Bukayo Saka reminds me of Yorke in those days — the Arsenal star brings so much joy to football, it’s really infectious and lovely to watch.

“When you think that he missed that penalty in the final of Euro 2020 against Italy, comes back, becomes a star for his club, shines at the 2022 World Cup and is now playing a central role in Arsenal’s title charge. And he’s only 21, not 22 until September.

“I think he’s surprised everyone with how much he has improved in such a short space of time, and Mikel Arteta deserves credit for that improvement. He is one of the best young talents in world football.”

Big player

In our view, Bukayo Saka is one of the best young players in the world and has been superb for Arsenal over the years.

Saka is only 21 now, but he has already established himself as a key player for Arsenal and for England.

The forward scored two goals and gave one assist for Arsenal in their win against Crystal Palace in the London derby this past weekend.

What is remarkable about Saka is that he plays consistently well and always delivers.

Not all young players can do that.

Saka has scored 12 goals and given 10 assists in 28 Premier League appearances for Arsenal so far this season.
