Ray Parlour has claimed that William Saliba has looked ‘really impressive’ in pre-season for Arsenal, as he told MrBeanyman.
The Highbury legend was asked whether Arsenal should tie down Saliba to a new contract and he thinks ‘everyone has a chance’ under Mikel Arteta.
Back in 2019, Saliba joined the club as a fresh-faced teenager ready to showcase his worth to those in north London – Unai Emery was the man in the dugout.

But fast forward to the present and the 21-year-old, who is now a France international, is still waiting for his senior debut for the Gunners.
Despite that, Parlour likes what he sees from the player in pre-season and backed him to get that chance under Arteta ahead of the new Premier League season, as he was asked if he should sign a new contract.
“I think he has been impressive in pre-season so far,” said Parlour. “Everybody has a chance under Mikel Arteta.”

WHERE DOES SALIBA’S FUTURE LIE?
Saliba hit it off in Marseille colours last season, therefore, it’s understandable that they would want him back.
Added with the French giants, Barcelona boss Xavi will seemingly turn to Saliba if he can’t land Sevilla centre-back, Jules Kounde.
Gabriel and Ben White were the two main guys at the heart of Arsenal’s defence last season, but will Arteta break them up?
Arsenal fans want to see Saliba given a chance, and in truth, if he isn’t, then no-one will blame the youngster if he wants to leave.
He has two-years left on his current deal and is in a situation where he is either handed that chance or is allowed to leave for good elsewhere.
