Paris Saint-Germain coach Thomas Tuchel was frustrated to lose the “courageous” Moise Kean to injury after the Everton loanee scored yet again during PSG’s 3-0 thrashing of Rennes, speaking to OneFootball.
It was easy to forget when the £27 million striker was struggling for form and confidence at Goodison Park that this was a man who broke all sorts of records for Juventus and Italy as recently as 2019.
And a loan spell at PSG appears to have worked wonders for Kean’s career already.
He opened the scoring against Rennes with the sort of clinical, ruthless finish that has quickly become his trademark in the French capital, lashing a 25-yard effort into the bottom corner.
That was his fifth goal in just seven games – more than he managed in 37 matches for Everton.
Unfortunately for the under-pressure Tuchel, however, an ill-timed injury means Kean looks set to join fellow forwards Neymar and Kylian Mbappe on the sidelines.

“(Moise Kean) has a big heart, intensity. He is not afraid. He is courageous. He does what is necessary,” said the former Dortmund boss.
“I wouldn’t want to be a defender against him right now. It’s really hard to play against him. It’s very important for us because we miss that in certain times.”
The irony hasn’t been lost on Everton fans that while Kean is scoring for fun across the Channel the goals have dried up under Carlo Ancelotti.
Three successive defeats have eroded Everton’s flying start to the season.
And although Dominic Calvert-Lewin may be in the form of his life, the only other centre-forward at Ancelotti’s disposal is the seldom seen Cenk Tosun.
