Yann M’Vila and Eduardo Camavinga reacted on Instagram to Arsenal-owned William Saliba earning his first call-up for France.
The 20-year-old, following his £27 million move to Arsenal in 2019 (Sky Sports), is yet to make a single appearance for his parent club.
But it’s his performances back in his home country and in the colours of Marseille that have now landed him with a chance of making his senior debut for the World Champions during this coming week.
It has been a drama-filled journey for the ball-playing centre-back because it wasn’t so long ago that Arsenal fans were asking why he wasn’t earning minutes under Mikel Arteta.
Well, not only will Arteta and Arsenal fans be pleased by his rise, but so are M’Vila and Camavinga delighted with the news about the player.
Saliba posted on his Instagram that he was ‘very happy and proud to honour my first call with France’.
Real Madrid midfielder Camavinga simply responded to the announcement by posting a heart emoji and heart eyes emoji.
Whilst former Premier League midfielder, M’Vila, added that he is ‘really happy’ for the player and this is only the start of his journey.
“Really happy for you my brother,” said M’Vila. “It is well deserved. This is just the beginning. Stayed focused.”
Come next season, Arsenal can add Saliba to their backline which will just make Arteta’s side even more impressive.
Both Gabriel and Ben White have been outstanding this season, but they need more depth in that centre-back spot.
Well, the ever-improving Saliba can provide that in bucket loads and further boost this Arsenal team that will be hoping to play Champions League football next season.
The manner in which Arteta has managed Saliba has to be applauded because many were questioning his methods when he first showcased his hand.
