Alex Kral’s girlfriend has played down speculation linking the Spartak midfielder with a move to West Ham United, telling Match TV that they are happy with life in Moscow.
With the Hammers returning to a familiar hunting ground, will Thomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal soon be teaching another Czech Republic international his ‘apples and pears’ from his ‘dog and bone’?
Kral has been linked with a move to London, on and off, for the best part of a year.
But a deal that looked increasingly likely only a few weeks ago now feels more and more uncertain.
According to EuroSport, West Ham were planning to tie up a deal for the £14 million-rated Kral before Euro 2020.
That didn’t happen, of course.
And after the former Slavia Prague midfielder struggled to make an impression at the tournament – he never returned to the starting XI following an underwhelming display against Scotland – a potential move to the Premier League now appears in doubt.
Is Alex Kral still heading to West Ham?
“You know, I have nothing to say about this,” Marketa Gavlichkova said when asked about the prospect of Kral joining Coufal and Soucek to England.
“Alex has three more years of contract with Spartak, and we are really happy here. We will be happy in the future, even if we do not go to another place.
“We will definitely not be angry (if he stay in Moscow). Of course, it’s great when you can go to some new place, but we have everything in Spartak. We are happy in Moscow.

“(The city is) beautiful! If we are asked about Moscow, we answer: ‘You need to go there. This is one of the most beautiful cities we have been to’.
“We love culture, people, restaurants. Living in Moscow is very cool.”
That’s that, then.
Should West Ham look elsewhere in pursuit of a new midfielder – and reports suggest they may be doing just that – the Krals will not be too disappointed.
