Harry Redknapp has stated that Harry Winks is a ‘really good player’, but he questioned the Tottenham midfielder being involved in a potential deal involving Everton’s Richarlison.

Everton could lose their star goalscorer to Spurs, who are keen to add him to their books this summer, but those in north London aren’t seemingly keen to pay the £60 million+ asking price.

Therefore, the likes of Winks, 26, could possibly be used in a deal to try and bring that asking price down from the Toffees.

Of course, Frank Lampard doesn’t want to lose such an important player for the team, but it’s not like Everton are riding a wave regarding their finances.

When Redknapp was told about the possibility of Winks being used as part of a deal to get Richarlison to Spurs, this is how he reacted, whilst speaking to talkSPORT.

“I like Harry Winks, he’s a really good player,” said Redknapp. “But they (Everton) are losing a goalscorer and a goal maker (in Richarlison).

“But sometimes you have to sell your best players to maybe try to get two or three in because he (Lampard) needs to strengthen that team.

“That team that Everton have got are going to struggle, at the moment. I am desperate for Everton to do well, but I think they will be struggling again next season.

“Frank has got it all on again to keep them out of that bottom six. I kicked every ball for him. I wanted him to do well.”

WINKS NEEDS TO LEAVE TOTTENHAM

Under Jose Mourinho, Nuno Espirito Santo and now Antonio Conte, it has been a difficult period for Winks at his boyhood club.

No-one more than the fans themselves would want it to work for their academy player, but it’s just not happening.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and January signing, Rodrigo Bentancur, have pushed ahead of the England international in the Spurs pecking order.

It could even be argued that Oliver Skipp is also ahead of Winks, so it’s probably best he moves on this summer, whether it is to Everton or someone else.
