Liverpool defensive midfielder Fabinho has spoken highly of Jude Bellingham in The Liverpool Echo amid speculation linking Jurgen Klopp’s side with the Borussia Dortmund midfielder.
Fabinho has said that he has heard about rumours linking Dortmund and England international midfielder Bellingham with Liverpool.
The Athletic reported this month that Liverpool have a ‘strong interest’ in signing Bellingham this summer.
The Daily Mail reported last week that the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners expect to sign the 19-year-old England international midfielder in 2023.
There’s also speculation in the Spanish media that Liverpool have already made an offer to Dortmund for the teenager [Cadena SER].
Fabinho on Liverpool target Jude Bellingham
Fabinho told The Liverpool Echo about Bellingham: “It is normal that good players are always linked with the club. I didn’t hear about Tchouameni.
“I heard about Bellingham because he is young and a really good player but he didn’t come. It is normal.
“Liverpool is a big club and wants to keep fighting with the best so it is normal that they will buy new players.”
Could a transfer happen?
In our view, Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham would be a very good signing for Liverpool.
With the summer transfer window to close next week, we do not see Dortmund selling the 19-year-old midfielder now.
However, a transfer could well happen next summer.
After all, Dortmund do sell their best players and have done so in recent times, such as Jadon Sancho and Erling Haaland.
If Liverpool came up with the cash that Dortmund would want for him next summer, then the Merseyside club could be able to sign Bellingham.
