Well, Nikola Vlasic is finally off the mark at West Ham United.

West Ham hammered Watford 4-1 at Vicarage Road on Tuesday afternoon and the Croatia international opened his account.

The former Everton attacker, who came on with five minutes to play, added a fourth for the Irons in stoppage time.

David Moyes brought him to East London this past summer from CSKA Moscow and the 24-year-old had been struggling in a big way.

This was his 21st competitive game for West Ham, but Moyes told Football London after the game that Vlasic has been looking very prolific in front of goal on the training ground.

He said: “I think it has felt like a big wait for us all for him to get a goal but he has shown really good finishing [in training] in the work we do.

“He can score, he is accurate and has power, but he has not really got himself a chance or an opportunity.”

Positive

Vlasic didn’t set the Premier League alight the last time he was in England’s top flight, with Everton.

But he’s got plenty of support and not only by his manager.

After he scored, the Croat was swarmed by congratulatory West Ham players to join in his triumph, which was a nice touch.

As Moyes said, he’s been doing the business behind the scenes and hopefully for the Irons, he can bring it to the big stage on a regular basis from here on in.
