Mohamed Elneny could make his first Europa League appearance of the season for Arsenal tonight.
The Egypt international hasn’t kicked a ball under Mikel Arteta since the third week in August due to injury.
However, the former Basel midfielder, a £7.4 million signing in 2016 [The Guardian], is on the mend and going by Arteta’s latest comments about the player, he could start in Arsenal’s clash with Zurich tonight.
The Spaniard told Arsenal’s official website: “Mo had a long-term injury but he has recovered now in a really good way and has been training with the team for a week or two.”

People forget easily but Elneny strengthens Arsenal’s squad in a massive way.
He had been written off by many Gunners’ supporters last season after barely latching on to his status as a squad player.
However, Elneny was called upon toward the end of the season and began posting a series of very dynamic and influental midfield displays.
This is someone who can easily come in and do a very good job for Arsenal if Granit Xhaka or Thomas Partey were to suffer an injury.
And it’ll be interesting to see if Elneny – once labelled ‘special‘ by Arteta – does indeed start against the Swiss outfit this evening.
