Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson has been speaking about Tottenham Hotspur ahead of tonight’s massive Premier League encounter.
Anfield plays host as Spurs visit the Premier League title-chasing Reds on Merseyside.
Victory would see Liverpool move two points above Manchester City – who play on Sunday – at the summit of the Premier League standings.
However, three points would also result in Tottenham leapfrogging Arsenal into fourth place in the table.
Both sides will be going for victory and with Jurgen Klopp only winning one of his five games against Lilywhites manager Antonio Conte, the German manager will know that his troops have a game on their hands.
Alisson, a £66 million signing in 2018, is also aware of that as the Brazilian paid tribute to the North Londoners – and highlighted the ‘really good’ Hugo Lloris.
He told Liverpool’s official website: “They are strong. They have good set-pieces [and] a really good goalkeeper. They have everything – top manager, really smart. But we as well have the same qualities. We believe in ourselves and we believe we are capable to get the three points, but for that we really will need to play our best.”
Liverpool probably have the best attacking players in world football, regardless what combination of them Klopp uses against Tottenham.
But Alisson is right – Lloris is a brilliant goalkeeper and whoever he comes up against, they’ll need their shooting boots on.
The France international, who cost £12 million in 2012, has been one of Spurs’ best players this season and he’ll be determined to help the Lilywhites leapfrog Arsenal in the Champions League qualification stakes.
