Kevin Campbell has backed the idea of Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal signing Quinten Timber.
The Feyenoord star is the twin brother of Arsenal’s summer capture, Jurrien, who suffered an unfortunate ACL injury on the opening day of the new season.
But there seems to be talk that Quinten Timber could be joining him, with Campbell suggesting that he would be the ‘perfect’ squad player, as he told The Highbury Squad.
Mikel Arteta does have options in the middle of the park, but is this a case of certain players leaving before Quinten Timber could join?
There was talk of Thomas Partey’s future in the summer, but his contract is running down and there are suggestions that he could still yet leave.
If that’s the case, then a replacement would be needed, with Campbell sharing his thoughts on the latest rumour doing the rounds.
Quinten Timber to Arsenal?
On Timber brothers working at Arsenal: “I think they could,” said Campbell. “I really do believe that they could work.
“By the way, Timber’s brother, he is a dog in that midfield. He is somebody who could really get around the pitch, put tackles in and make life difficult.
“Again, a player like him would be a perfect squad player for us. And make it younger, that’s the other thing.”
