Tony Cascarino told talkSPORT that Ben Davies, Moussa Sissoko, Eric Dier, Davinson Sanchez and Serge Aurier aren’t good enough for Tottenham.

The former Republic of Ireland striker shared that Tottenham have a ‘really funny squad’ mixed with top-quality players and those simply not good enough to play.

All the players mentioned above, have played for Tottenham this season, with the likes of Dier and Davies being regulars.

Nonetheless, this is what Cascarino had to say about Tottenham’s squad, as they have endured a number of difficult weeks.

“I think they have a really funny squad if I am brutally honest,” said Cascarino. “They have got five or six really good players.

“Obviously, Kane. I am putting Son in there. I would put in Hojbjerg I think is a very decent player. I would probably go Alderweireld, at the back, I really like. Reguilon, who is injured and a massive loss.

“Then I think there is a lot of mediocre and then there are players that I think are not good enough.

“I don’t think Davinson Sanchez is good enough. I don’t think Aurier is good enough. I don’t think Ben Davies is good enough. I am not sure about Eric Dier. For me, he is a squad player and not much more – I don’t think Sissoko is good enough. It’s really strange.”

Following Dier’s mistake against Chelsea in midweek, he was dropped for Sanchez during Tottenham’s win against West Brom today.

Davies continued at left-back, although, Sergio Reguilon will end up dethroning him when he returns from injury.

Added with that, Aurier also played at right-back and he was replaced by Matt Doherty just after the hour mark.
