Liverpool have been tipped to join the race to sign Moussa Diaby, but not until the summer transfer window.
Arsenal and Newcastle United are heavily linked to signing the Bayer Leverkusen winger who, according to The Chronicle, has a £100 million price tag.
That figure would make him Liverpool’s record signing, smashing the £85 million that was spent on Darwin Nunez last summer.
Long term, the Reds may need a replacement for Mohamed Salah.
And Christian Falk of Bild has intimated that Diaby to Anfield could be something that Jurgen Klopp looks at in the future.

He told Caught Offside: “He’s really expensive and Leverkusen will keep hold of him if a crazy offer doesn’t arise.I don’t see an offer coming about at this moment. Perhaps Liverpool will join the poker table at some point because he’s perfect for this team. But, for now, I don’t think there will be any movement on this front during the winter window.”
Referencing Arsenal’s interest, Falk added: “Perhaps if Arsenal have a lot of money somewhere, maybe £100m, Leverkusen would then have a discussion.”
Liverpool have a number of wide players, like Salah, Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz.
And longer term, Fabio Carvalho and Harvey Elliott may develop into excellent wide men.
But there is a chance that the Anfield outfit will dip into the summer market for somebody to operate on the flanks, particularly in light of Diaz’s injury woes this season and Salah’s advancing years.
The Egypt international turns 31 in July and with speed a massive part of his game, losing a yard or two of pace is bound to happen.
