Matt Turner is set to join Arsenal this summer after New England Revolution agreed a deal to sell the goalkeeper to the Gunners, and it’s fair to say the American is excited about his move to England.
Turner will be given the chance to play in the Premier League, and he’s already stated that he’s prepared for his move to the UK.
The goalkeeper can’t wait to meet up with his new teammates, and there’s one player, in particular, he’s looking forward to linking up with – Aaron Ramsdale.

Turner was asked which player he’s most excited to meet at Arsenal.
“I don’t know if there’s anyone in particular right now. I’m really excited to get to know Aaron Ramsdale, he has loads of experience all throughout every top league in England and speaking to him, he’s had a great season, getting to know him and developing that working relationship and then challenging him to become better and allowing him to help me to become better,” Turner said on the MLS YouTube channel.
Competition
This is exactly the type of mindset Turner needs to have when arriving at Arsenal.
He’s willing to learn, he’s excited to form good relationships, but most importantly, he’s keen to challenge.
The goalkeeper wants Ramsdale to improve and he also wants to improve himself.
Don’t be surprised if we see both goalkeepers kick it up a notch next season as they compete for the number one shirt at the Emirates Stadium.
Turner will have to do something remarkable to usurp Ramsdale and earn a spot in Mikel Arteta’s preferred XI, but it looks as though he’s willing to work hard to get to where he wants to be.
