Speaking on The Big Interview with Graham Hunter, Luuk De Jong has been waxing-lyrical about reported Newcastle United target Ousmane Dembele.
De Jong, once upon a time, played for Newcastle United, but it’s fair to say that plenty has changed in his own career and at St James’ Park since his ill-fated spell with the Magpies.
Indeed, Newcastle are now one of the richest clubs in the world and De Jong is at Barcelona, and interestingly, the Tyneside club are in for one of the Dutchman’s teammates – Dembele.
According to De Jong, Dembele is a truly exceptional player with amazing dribbling skills.
What’s been said?
De Jong spoke about his teammate.
“I agree, he makes some mistakes because he always wants to go forward. He’s the player that when he’s dribbling, he knows exactly when the defender wants to step in and he knows where to go, he can read it before them, he knows how to pass the players. His dribbling skills are really exceptional, and for a striker like me, that is amazing,” De Jong said.

Saint-Maximin-esque
De Jong describes Dembele as an incredible dribbler who can often make mistakes because he’s always looking to drive forward. To us, he sounds like a carbon copy of a current Newcastle player – Allan Saint-Maximin.
Imagine those two playing in the same team, the Magpies would immediately be one of the most entertaining and most dangerous football clubs in England, and with Chris Wood in the middle ready to nod home any crosses from out wide, they could form an incredible trifecta up top.
Dembele could be a great signing if Newcastle can pull this one off.
